Valley of Asni At
more than one hour from Marrakech, the Valley of Asni stands against
the whiteness of the highest peak of the Atlas. It deploys the beauty
and the purity of a nature still with a big untouched part and offers a
good peace for the mind after the tumult of the red city. To attain
this place, we will cross some wonderful views that have an infinite
nuance. We will imagine the comfort of our vehicle, the life style that
the citizens had in the past not so far. The military roads, the Douars
at a flank of Collins or the shepherds leading their sheep are a call
to the constant reality of time. The arrival to Asni tend to stop this
contemplation. This village does not represent any particular interest
but it marks the moment of choice between continuing straight towards
Marigha, Ouirgane and Tizi n’Test or turn to Imlil and the Jbel
Toubkal, the culminant point of the Atlas. Imlil and Toubkal Mountain The
charming small village of the mountain of Imlil is an obliging passage
point for all the adventurers who hope to take the 4167 m of the
mountain Toubkal. Situated at 64 Km from Marrakech, it is also an
entrance gate to the superb National park of Toubkal. Created in 1942
and covering a superficial of 38 000 ha, this park offers the
possibility of having superb climbs. Through time, the plateaux and the
cliffs alternate with the gorges, and the cypress succeed in an
extraordinary explosion of nuances and of scent. The attraction
exercised by Toubkal is all the same in the heart of the life in Imlil.
It gains a lot from the economic activity of the village and generates
numerous initiatives. We find accredited mountain guides there or
muleteers that can take charge of your materiel, of the bivouac and of
your bag. Those people are experimented and are in a good physical
condition can help in the climb Toubkal and to descend on Imlil in two
days without any problem. The ideal period to do it is between June and
September. |
